Excel safe mode, Outlook safe mode or another programs safe mode can be a good way to restart the program and change configuration settings that are causing. In Office, I only use Word, Excel and Outlook 2016 in my work, but I do use them extensively. ![]() If you only need email, you can use IMAP, provided IMAP support is enabled on the server. ![]() You made two statements in your response concerning Outlook: (1) “If you have Office 2016 Outlook, it may not support oauth for gmail and some other email servers, but the new versions may not work perfectly either especially with pop3”, and (2) “If you do not use outlook and you are not having complaints from collaborators about your files not behaving right, I see little reason to upgrade”. You dont do anything, assuming you will be installing 2016 on the PC in which 2007 is installed You uninstall Office 2007 then install Office 2016 which will use the original outlook profile, its settings and data files. Applies to: Outlook 2016 (Win) Users connecting to Exchange 2007 mailboxes should not upgrade to Office 2016 as you cannot connect Outlook 2016 to Exchange 2007 using Exchange services.
